Our circumnavigation of the British Isles started on 21st April from the beautiful Beaulieu River, which is Nova’s home port. We travelled anti-clockwise, reaching our most northerly point (Stromness in the Orkney Islands) in mid-June.
In our initial planning (see map to the left), we had two options once we reached the island of Ireland. West or east? In the end, we opted for sailing down the east coast to Dublin and then across to Holyhead.
We arrived back at Beaulieu on 5th October, 168 days later. We had visited 69 places, covered 2,587 nautical miles, and enjoyed the company of 22 crew as we explored the fascinating coastline and ports of these beautiful islands.
